What should I prepare for the first pickup?

Just have your cloths ready. Our Agent (Driver) will bring a dhobiapp bag to place your loose cloths in. If you have them in a bag yourself this is also fine. If you are ordering “Wash & Fold”, the Agent (Driver) will give a reusable bag to you.

What areas do you cover?

Dhobiapp is operational in and across Allahabad City, Uttar Pradesh, postal code 211001, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. We are covering most of Allahabad City. If in doubt, you can check your specific postcode at www.dhobiapp.com – and we’re expanding to other cities soon.

Which items should be dry cleaned and which should be laundered?

Please check the garment’s care label for how to best clean the garment. We recommend you select from the shirts category for shirts as they will then also be pressed for you. Please separate what you need dry cleaned and what you need to be laundered so we can distinguish it easily.

Do I need to separate my dry cleaning & laundry into colours and whites?

Don’t worry about sorting your cloths, we will do that for you.

Can I place an order on the website/by phone/via email?

We think it would be the most convenient for you to place orders via our website or the app. Download now and give it a try!

I can't find a category that my garment belongs to, how do I know if you can wash a specific clothing for me?

Just choose the category that you think best suits your item. We will contact you if there is any problem.

I don't know which items should be laundered or dry cleaned. What should I do?

Don’t worry, we know! We will follow the label instructions on your garment to ensure that they are handled correctly and with the utmost care.

Where do you take the laundry and dry cleaning to?

Your cloths will be taken to one of our top notch facilities! Your cloths will be handled with care by our high quality, experienced and specialist cleaners.

Why do women’s shirts and blouses cost more to clean than men’s shirt?

Cleaning women’s shirts and blouses costs slightly more because they require more care and are typically smaller than a man’s shirt – which means they must be hand-finished, rather than machine-pressed. As a result, blouses require more time and attention in order to ensure a high-quality finish.


Dry Cleaning



What if my garment is damaged in the process?

You are in safe hands, we are fully insured! In the rare event that your item is damaged, we will reimburse you in accordance with our compensation policy. Please refer to the T&Cs for more details.

Can you remove the stain on my items?

For dry cleaning items, our specialist dry cleaners use the highest quality equipment and industry-leading stain removal products. Whilst we cannot promise all stains will be removed, we will certainly do our best!


Wash & Fold Orders



Do I need to weigh my bag?

No need to weigh the bag as it is one standard cost per bag, the reusable bags will approximately weigh 8kg when full. 8kg is the equivalent of 1.5 normal wash loads.

What should I not put in the order?

As it is a wash and fold service, please bear in mind that your garments will not be pressed so you may want to order your shirts separately so that they are neatly pressed. Bedding and towelling are also not included but you can also find this section in the app. Please avoid putting silks/leather/fur/velvet/cashmere/dry cleaning only items into the bag as these need to be specially treated and we currently don’t clean these items. Please refer the T&Cs for more details.

What temperature do you wash the cloths?

We use a standard 30 degree temperature to wash your cloths.

Do you dry my cloths?

Yes, your cloths will be tumble dried for you at a medium heat. However, anything that you do not wish to be tumble dried will need to be specified in the special instructions when you order and we will hang dry.

Do I get to keep the bag?

Yes, of course. Please reuse your bag so that you can collect your laundry in it and all you have to do is give it to our Agent (Driver).


Pickup & Delivery



When can you pick-up and collect my order?

Collection and delivery times can differ depending on city and availability, but our Agents (Drivers) can always be booked in advance. Please check below for specific operating hours.

Allahabad and surrounding areas

Mon-Fri – 7am to 10pm

Sat – 8am to 6pm

Sun - 10am to 4 pm


Varanasi and surrounding areas

Mon-Fri – 7am to 10pm

Sat – 8am to 6pm

Sun - 10am to 4 pm


Lucknow and surrounding areas

Mon-Fri – 7am to 10pm

Sat – 8am to 6pm

Sun - 10am to 4 pm

Can I schedule pickup and delivery at different locations?

Currently pickup and delivery needs to be at the same location. We will be adding multi-location orders very soon.

Where do I input the voucher code?

On the checkout screen within the app. Please enter your voucher code there.

How long does it take for you to clean my cloths?

You can choose a time slot that is most convenient for you! We promise to turnaround all orders within 48-hours.

Can I reschedule a pickup/delivery?

Yes, you can change the pickup/delivery time at any time before the collection within the app or by contacting Customer Care via support@dhobiapp.com

Where can I find my order history?

Open Dhobiapp on your phone, from the main page, tap the basket icon on the top right and it will take you to any open or previous orders. We will contact you to arrange a new pickup/delivery time for a period of 30 days. If your cloths have not been redelivered within 90 days we reserve the right to give them to charity.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, you can cancel the order within the app up to 2 hours before the scheduled pickup slot. If your pickup slot is within the next 2 hours then please contact Customer Care via support@dhobiapp.com.

Why is my collection/delivery slot greyed out?

Sorry, it is because we are busy at those time slots. Please choose another available time.

Is there any item excluded from your services?

Yes, we do not currently clean leather, suede, velvet or fur items. Please note, in some cases it is difficult for us to know if we can clean a garment until we see it. In the rare event that we receive your garment and cannot clean it, we will notify you as soon as possible.

What are your customer care hours?

We are here to help from Monday to Friday 7am to 11pm, Saturday 8am to 7pm and Sunday 10am to 5pm. Please contact us by email at support@dhobiapp.com.


Payment & Feedback



When will I be charged?

Currently you will pay after you get your cloths back, ie Cash On delivery. In future we will add Card payment as well.

What are the methods of payment?

To start with, we are accepting cash on delivery.

How are my card details transmitted and stored?

We are not supporting this service yet.

Is there a minimum amount of order?

Yes, there is a Rs.100 minimum order , with free collection and delivery as standard. Any order under Rs. 100 will be charged Rs. 100.
